Sundridge Park Management and Conference Centre Plaistow Lane Bromley – Cathedral Group and Millgate Homes

Negotiated a series of permissions on behalf of Cathedral Group plc who acquired the former Sundridge Park Management and Conference Centre. The site is located within Metropolitan Open Land, a Historic Park and Garden, contains Bromley’s only Grade I listed building comprising the Mansion House, Grade II listed coach house and Repton landscaped terraces.

Listed building consent and planning permission was granted to convert the Mansion into a single family dwelling comprising substantial demolition of the north wing and replacement development to create modern working kitchens and staff accommodation. Separate consent was granted to convert the Coach House to 7 dwellings and outline permission for demolition of the conference centre and redevelopment for 54 residential apartments and town houses. An off-site affordable housing contribution was negotiated and reduced given the costs of conversion and refurbishment of the Mansion and Coach House.

Millgate Homes acquired the Coach House and submitted an outline scheme for the former conference centre site and established viability and very special circumstances case to increase the height of the buildings and deliver more private dwellings. The S106 affordable housing contribution remained fixed.
