Oxford Joint Planning Law Conference

Mary Power sits on the committee that organises the conference and in 2016 will Chair the event. The dedicated committee comprises representatives of the four professions, the Law Society, the Bar Council, the Royal Town Planning Institute and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. The committee strives to ensure continually high quality and topical papers relevant to all. It is attended by over 200 practitioners from the four key professions that specialise in town and country planning.

Planning Surveyors Club

The Planning Surveyors Club is a unique dinner club, which meets up to four times a year to discuss with a selected high profile guest, topical issues relevant to the planning and development industry. Guest speakers have included prominent politicians, senior civil servants, sages from the development and planning industry, The Planning Inspectorate to name a few. Chatham House rules always apply to encourage open and genuine discussion on a topic after dinner. Its Members are primarily dual qualified planning surveyors but not exclusively. It represents both the private and public sector in the planning and development world, including barristers, solicitors and retired consultants.
